This series includes 9 gravestones on which the portraits of the deceased have been imprinted (this is common practice in Iran); parts of the portraits have faded and also on each gravestone there is a piece of red neon which is a reproduction of a section of the map of Tehran. In the series I have tried to draw a connection between the dead body and the living body and also urban space versus uninhabited space, the point being that the city of Tehran has become a dead city in result of losing its public spaces, and in fact the series alludes to a Tehrani style of death. Tehran has turned into a graveyard and the city itself has been converted into heterotopia and there is no heterotopia to be found outside it. Because of the high costs I was unable to finish two of the pieces.
